Eats in Gensan: Coffee Lover

If you're yearning for a cup of coffee but have grown tired of Starbucks, Bo's, or CBTL consider giving Coffee Lover a try the next time you're in General Santos City. This café, located in the City of Pacman, opened its doors last year and serves up a variety of tasty dishes, including "silog" meals, sandwiches, pastries, pasta, and of course, an impressive selection of coffee drinks. You can find Coffee Lover situated in Gensan Highstreet, along the Pan-Philippine Highway, directly across from Notre Dame of Dadiangas University. During my recent trip, my travel buddy and I hopped on a tricycle and headed over to Coffee Lover, which was a quick 5-minute ride away from our hotel.

Using coffee beans directly imported from Italy's Illy brand, this cafe creates an array of delicious coffee beverages. Their most popular drinks, according to the store manager, are the Caffe Mocha and Cappuccino Viennese. During our visit, my friend and I indulged in a Caffe Mocha while also ordering a refreshing Strawberry and Cream Smoothie, along with Longsilog, Tapsilog, and Blueberry Cheesecake. Since we had a long 4-hour journey back to Davao city, we opted for a heavy breakfast to keep us satiated for the ride ahead.

The longaniza I had was smaller compared to what's flashed in their menu but nevertheless it tasted good and was well repleting. The blueberry cheesecake made the breakfast a bang, it was so heavy to the stomach so we weren't able to finish it but we liked it though.

Another thing I like about Coffee Lover is that guests can have their photos taken using an Instax camera and display it in their wall as proof of visit for others to see. Better take note though that this slashes P150 off your budget.

Coffee Lover is situated along the Pan-Philippine highway in front of the Notre Dame of Dadiangas University. It is accessible by major modes of transportation, particularly jeepneys and tricycles from all around General Santos City.
